Barcelona - Parte II (As Ramblas)

Caminhar… e ver!

Com três dias em Barcelona leva-se uma boa ideia da cidade. Claro que cinco dias são o ideal para uma visita com ida à praia e aos arredores. E uma semana passa-se muito bem se incluirmos umas visitas dentro de portas.

Barcelona tem quatro zonas principais (e a não perder) cada uma delas com encantos distintos e particulares: Las Ramblas e o bairro Gótico, Montjuic e Raval, Port Vell e La Ribera e L’Eixample. Nesta visita, espreitámo-las todas. E o que se lê nas próximas linhas são apenas experiências que poderão servir como uma sugestão de "trilho de migalhas".

Pelas Ramblas…

Começámos a visita pela obrigatória descida das Ramblas desde a praça da Catalunha até ao mar.

As Ramblas são um passeio público pedonal que nos leva ao Passeio de Colom, junto à frente marítima. De um lado e do outro há inúmeras lojas, hostals, cafés, pastelarias, botecos, teatros, igrejas... um enfim de tudo! Mais do que isso, há edifícios originais e engraçados pelo que é quase obrigatório levar o nariz bem levantado e os olhos no ar. Com isto há que ter cuidado para não deixar passar o mosaico de Mirò no chão, os chafarizes ou os pequenos mercados de flores. E também há que ter em atenção as mochilas e carteiras quando se pára, aqui ou ali, a ver um craque a dar uns toques na bola, um homem estátua ou uns quaisquer dançarinos de tango.

Quase a meio da descida, aproximadamente um quarteirão antes do teatro do Liceu, está um dos melhores lugares que Barcelona tem para oferecer – o Mercado La Boqueria. Meio escondido, com uma bela entrada em ferro fundido, lá dentro é uma loucura de cores, cheiros e sabores, de locais e estrangeiros, de compradores e visitantes. É a alegria dos fotógrafos… E uma boa opção para trincar qualquer coisa, se bem que os preços são algo desencorajadores.

Chegando à frente marítima, na Praça del Portal de La Pau, encontrámos a estátua de Colombo de dedo em riste e olhos no mar. Há que caminhar um pouco pela frente marítima, descansar, apanhar sol e seguir, pela via Laietana ou qualquer outra rua paralela, rumo à catedral, sem esquecer de fazer uma paragem na praça de Saint Jaume (para ver o palácio do governo regional ou o São Jorge matar o dragão) ou na praça do Rei (para refrescar a alma numa esplanada). Chegando à Catedral há que sentir a azáfama exterior, com os bailarinos de breakdance e outras performances de rua, e, pagando, visitar o interior da Catedral, com a possibilidade de subir ao telhado. Dar a volta pelo exterior da Catedral e observar o quarteirão que está cheio de recantos fantásticos.

Passando por este ponto, é mergulhar nas ruas estreitas e emaranhadas do Bairro Gòtic. Olhar, deambular, maravilhar-se, perder-se e, se for possível, comprar! A praça de Pi é um bom local para recuperar forças e encaminhar-nos de volta às Ramblas.

Walk ... and see!

Three days in Barcelona it gives a good idea of ​​the city. Of course, five days are ideal for a visit with trip to the beach and the surrounding area. And a week its fine if we includes some indoor visits .

Barcelona has four main areas (and not to be missed) each with distinct and particular charms: Las Ramblas and the Gothic Quarter, Montjuic and Raval, Port Vell and La Ribera and L'Eixample. On this visit, espreitámo them all. What is written in the next lines are just experiences that may serve as a "crumb trail" suggestion.

Las Ramblas ...

We started the visit by the mandatory Ramblas from the square of Catalonia to the sea.

The Ramblas is a pedestrian promenade that leads to the Passeig de Colom, near the seafront. On one side and on the other there are numerous shops, hostels, cafes, bakeries, pubs, theaters, churches ... More than that, there are original and funny buildings and it is almost obligatory to take eyes wide open. With this we must be careful not to pass up the mosaic of Miro on the floor, the fountains or small flower markets. And we must also take into account the backpacks and wallets when it stops here and there, to see an ace to give some touches on the ball, a man or a statue any tango dancers.

Almost half the path, approximately one block before the Liceu theater, is one of the best places that Barcelona has to offer - La Boqueria Market. Half hidden with a beautiful entry into cast iron, there is a color madness, smells and tastes of local and foreign buyers and visitors. It is the joy of photographers ... and good for a bite, although the prices are somewhat discouraging.

Coming to the seafront, in the Plaza del La Pau Portal, we found the finger of the Columbus statue with eyes on the sea. We must walk a little by the seafront, resting, sunbathing and then follow via Laietana or any other side street towards the Cathedral, without forgetting to make a stop in the square of Saint Jaume (to see the palace of the regional government or the St. George slaying the dragon) or the King's Square (to refresh the soul in a terrace). Arriving at the Cathedral there that feel the bustle outside, with the dancers of breakdance and other street performances, and paying, visit the interior of the Cathedral, with the possibility of climbing to the roof. It´s a must do gto go around the outside of the cathedral and see the block that is full of fantastic places.

Going through this point, is sumerge in the narrow, tangled streets of the Gotic Quarter. Look, walk, marvel, be lost and, if possible, buy! The Pi Square is a good place to recover strength and send us back to the Ramblas.
